I don't think there's anything wrong with the requests, it's mere brainstorming.

This isn't brainstorming. It's part of a growing trend to just 'request' the most unusual, 'uber', pointless or unheard of aircraft just for the sake of it, and then spout on about how that aircraft would enhance the game.

Very tedious.

I agree, it can get, & does become very annoying.

... it's not just question if it's annoying or not .... its just that this kind of trend has to be stopped before it spreads ( or soon i would find few in mods d/l section)

well maybe i overreacted .... i should have just deleted those threads in silent  (sarcasm)

Why not start one thread for requests and let modders pick ones they intend to make .... afterwards modders starts Wip tread for them and in it you can post all info or remarks you like . ( like Jolly did with Beaufighter ) ... just a thought

One thing that really gets to me, is the continual RE-Requests. I mean, this is the 2nd such thread for the Ardo featuring forward firing guns, the 40mm Hurrican, twice. Not to mention the several T-6 Harvard request threads...

agree ...

....seams to me that some guys come here not to read and find info but to get heard ....

.... and posting their info in already started threads doesn't make them important enough .... just MHO

It's a logical thought...

however any well researched and potentially good historical ideas would most likely be lost in amongst flying saucer and Luft '46 spam. At least if it's all kept separate you have the chance to weed out the crap.

Well, I like serious brainstorming ideas with pictures, info, etc... not

"plz make plane i want lolololz i nub lol please may i die lololz"

I can't do a thing with it. Trust me, I know the plane. Still, this doesn't help. For some occasions like the Russian uber plane I didn't know it but it was a GOOD topic - info, pictures, etc.

One thing that quite irritates me is the way some people just sign up to the forum, make a request for a plane & then you never hear from then again. Make a request for a plane you want fair enough but at least have the decency to take part in other discusions & not just make a request for what they want

/Rant over.

I agree with most of the above, but still in the case of some obscure aircraft, one needs to sometimes be reminded what was actually used operationally and what was mere fantasy.

I only recently found out about the Arado nightfighter, and if I didn't read about it, I would no doubt have found out about it on this forum, and then googled it.

I agree that it's bad starting requests in someone elses thread, but when starting your own, it can become a good source of information:

Someone sees it, adds pictures, someone else sees it, adds a wikipedia article etc.
