#1

[b][color=orange]Note:
FW fixed now
Spitfire fixed now
P-38 fixed now
P-39 fixed now

Both MODS reworked for compatibility with latest MOD-Packs. [03/15/2010]

Hi Guys,

another version of stuka_40's Propellor Textures.

All Credits to stuka_40, I took his 3rd Version to rework.
Many THX stuka_40 for your work.

Download: vas_prop3_RELOADED.rar

Just copy the folder inside your MODS directory,
make sure it doesn't conflict with one of stuka_40's previous versions.

Addition:

Here the LITE VERSION, finished earlier than thought Big Grin
It's not realy compare able with previous Version, 'cause I changed visibility to more realistic.
Now you will see reflections of the blades.

Download: vas_prop3_RELOADED_Lite.rar

Also, just copy the folder inside your MODS directory,
make sure it doesn't conflict with one of stuka_40's previous versions or vas_prop3_RELOADED.

Can you please post a pic of a spitfire, or anything that has yellow end blades? That's what was a bit annoying for me in Stuka's version. The yellow ring was soo bright...

I just tried this mod and no matter how good it looks on screenshots - for actual use during flying its unreal. Only when you're flying at lets say 40% power it looks real, but on 100% and more it spins too darn fast.

Unless you can change the speed in game, this is only good for taking screenshots.

Thanks anyway.

Hey Guys,

I'm sorry, I was on hurry as I posted the D/L-Link.

@reflected: If you want to wait, I'll post some pics after my 24h work shift tomorrow.

Otherwise, feel free to test it yourself, mate.

@TH0R: Yes, the visual spinner rotation is not change able atm, maybe a modder could look in it.

If you are talented in photoshop, feel free to repaint the alpha layer under section "RGB channels" to your satisfaction.

Regards,

renmik

Hi renmik!

Greate work Big Grin i have already tested them maybe you will make one lighter version too. They look very nice.
I remarked that your textuers had little blurred colour (not in alphah ahannel), do you use original textuers(extracted from game)? or maybe you blurred them yourself!

Many thanks to you too with you great work!

What do you mean "The yellow ring was soo bright" ?
Do you mean the ring should be less visible or what?

Propelors look a bit different on movies than in real life... we don't have shutter speed limitations in our eyes... and our brain does a great job in filtering out the "noise".

This mod makes the propelor look like in the movies... which is great for making IL-2 films. Definately a keeper but, only for recording.

Thanx.

Yes, you are right, but I have discovered that I get a very special sensation playing IL-2 like if I was watching a film.

I mean, these propellers make me feel in a film.

However your argument, the standard IL-2 propeller ring is unreal too. Our eyes don't see that ring either. On my opinion is very difficult to set a correct effect, but this one from Stuka_40 is nice in inmersion and for screenshots.

One of my favourites.

Probably, the Renmik variant is the most real. Tastes question.

Regards.
