I have some questions about that two planes. First I want to know how I can fly these planes with "Level Stabilizer" and with the normal bombsight like the Lofte of the He111 (But Altitude and Speed in Meters and Km/h and no Mp/h and feet) . I want to make precise bombing runs and no dive bombing to hit my target with bombs. Second I want tto know if it
First:
(The link is inoperative)
Second:
The bombsight you currently have on the plane should give you precise level-bombing anyhow. I would consider this to be a "normal" bombsight. Especially for the japanese.
Its the same bombsight as on the Pe-2. (you input speed + alt, then you angle of sight change correspondingly to the bead that shows your total speed + alt. Then you MANUALLY drop your bombs when crosshairs are over target) If it doesn't work for you then I think you have a problem. It works fine for me.
As for maintaining a constant heading, you'll find many aircraft have that problem. As long as your speed and altitude are constant, the rest is easy to fix. Just make slight adjustments with your rudder every now-and-then. Its not too hard really...
When you see old actual WWII film footage of aircraft dive bombing ships you will see most of the bombs missed. They just didn't have the precision bomb sites that are available now-a-days.
Bomb hits relied on pilot skill. Practice, Practice and more practice I guess..lol..
As far as level bombing I gave up on that because I can never get the trim to work fine enough. It is either to much or not enough & I end up all over the sky & run out of time trying to get lined up.
Much to difficult & time consuming to learn it for me.
The bomb sights in the old microsoft combat flight sim 3 was very simple & very workable for pc usage. To bad Oleg couldnt have use their method in il2. It was much better & actually fun.
Realistic? LoL...This is a computer ***Game*** run via a keyboard and mouse and various hardware pieces that we pay hundreds of dollars to setup & play with.
an actual ww2 bomber had several crewman all working toward a specific goal. The pilots job was to keep er right side up. we are playing the game alone & making a few adjustments to allow things to be setup easier is not taking away from anything...just making it more fun...
My opinion only though.
I may look at this game different then most of you...but hell, I have over 15000 hours of actual flying so I see some areas of the game differently then you may.
S!
I almost always hit a ship but i have enough to dive with a torpedobomber.
lol.. well, at this moment in time, when you are skimming across the French countryside at 50ft, you don't have the option to turn to your oppo the navigator for course information!
i love torpedos with the avenger
very fun
Kate is great if you change the FM. The AAA Kate is unflyiable because of the default FM. We know about the "no hack" policy and we agree with it, but not for the Kate. Or we make a new slot, or we change the FM.
Val cockpit would have been better than the George's one.
Probably also the torpedo's value should be altered, to give it more power. We have played a Midway campaign in SEOW, and the american carriers are really to much strong for the Val. It's impossible to sink them.
Personally i've changed Kate FM, and i use the previous tail gunner's version with machine gun visible, and now it's really a nice fly. We could have more succes attacking with Val and Kate the same target at the same time, but for my opinion...i repeat again...torpedo power must be increased a little.
Considering how many times we have asked Oleg to give us the Kate flyiable (for months), i think that this bird should have the priority in the modding community.
