Constructing Cockpits
#1

Hello folks!

I've been thinking how the cockpits of the mods work. The only way to make them is to make "Frankensteins", or not? Technically, and with a lot of time and skill, is it possible to make a completely original cockpit, for, say, the Hs-129's? (And now you see what I'm getting at)

Well, I'm just a n00b so don't torch me too bad.

Well Strangelove, it's easy for me to say as I can't make them, just use them and talk about them, but I agree with you, the complete an accurate models are the only ones that interest me - I know that kind of construction requires way more work, but that is my perspective.
I am slowly learning to untangle myself from the mess I make in my files, so that one day I may start tinkering with something worthwhile, but there are so many talented sorts doing it, I don't know if I'll ever pick it up.

...guys you are forgetting one tiny little bitty thing ..... IL2 isn't supposed to get modded !

any "new" mod feature needs to get discovered by reverse engineering and that takes time , heck 3d converter is in public beta stage for what few days maybe . It took six months (if i remember it correctly ) for develop . It is really question of priorities , for now plane modeling is no1 and majority of modders are tied up with all of those WIP projects ( just look at beta mods section ...)

For one to be able to comprehend how cockpit "works" only way is to try to manipulate present (default) parts, so frankencockpits are really something you should be grateful for cos they are just first stage in process of having brand new cockpits
