I don't know how many people are still using versions 4.04 or 4.05, but I thought that if it was even one person, then the problem of not being able to fly any particular aircraft would be a major problem for them. So are you using 4.04 and can't fly the B-25 using the soundmod? Can't fly the Beaufighter? The Spitfire? The Tempest?
I've seen some posts where people are having problems, but unfortunately, I haven't seen any fixes posted, other than say, changing Sound Sampling Rate, but if there was a problem-solving post that I overlooked, you'll have to forgive me.
It suddenly occurred to me to check the files that were modified by the soundmod, and see what the problem was, guessing that if removed, IL-2 would simply revert to the default files. On my end, there seems to be some issue with the Cockpit(a/c name).class files located in the com/maddox/il2/objects/air folder. I have no idea what the compatibility issues are (a corrupt download maybe?), but removing these files has seemed to have fixed the problem on my install. You could probably narrow it down to one particular file for each aircraft, but well... I'm not quite in the mood for that at the moment.
An example of the relevant files would be named:
- CockpitB25J.class
- CockpitB25J_AGunner.class
- CockpitB25J_Bombardier$Interpolater.class
- CockpitTemp5.class
- and et cetera
So I hope that can help someone out and that they can go back to havin' fun
