My main project is the Hellhawks Tour 2, but this is something that has been going over in my mind while I've been helping with the Philippines Map, and when I saw the Darwin Map come out.

WHAT IF - In 1912 the Japanese had gained the territory (island) of Timor from the Dutch and the Portuguese as a result of their boarder war, and by 1940 had turned such into a western Rabaul.
WHAT IF - The American Carriers had be caught at Pearl and most of them were Sunk?
WHAT IF - That caused America to go on the Defensive, and concentrate on protecting the Hawaian Islands and the West Coast.
WHAT IF - The Japanese fleet had not been seriously opposed in the CORAL SEA, and the Japanese were able to capture New Guinea, more importantly Port Moresby.
WHAT IF - The Japanese were able to capture the entire solomon island chain and make the Guadacanal Airbases operational, finaly Isolating Australia from the West.
WHAT IF - The Japanese (because of all of these conditions) favored the Idea of Invading the Northern territorys of Australia, in order to force their submission.

OK, now if that is the world you live in.....
Consider YOU are a pilot in the Far East Air Force when Japan Invades the Philippines.
Consider the FEAF was not totaly destroyed in the first week of the Invasion.
Consider they were able to pull some B-17s and some P-40s to airfields on to Smaller Islands that had little known airstrips.
Consider the Japanese might not be able to comit as much airpower because of all their opperations in the Solomons and New Guinea. Who's time tables step up with the loss of American Carrier Power.
Consider that when the FEAF eventualy does have to pull back to Australia it then gets assigned to help repulse the possible INVASION OF AUSTRALIA.
Just a thought...
