Biggin Hill Wing Megapack - WIP
#1

Gentlemen, I'm working on a 1942-1943 single mission megapack. The player flies as red 2 of 611 squadron. Most of them are almost finished, but I'm still waiting for Canon's Channel map's final version.

Why single missions? Because I really don't like the way il2 campaigns work: you cannot proceed to the next mission if you belly land, or bale out, or don't fly over a certain point, or the constellation of the stars is not favorable....this way you can fly these misions one after the other, it'll feel like a campaign.

why megapack? because the pack will contain skins, mods, and much more for the sake of immersion.

what kind of missions? Rhubarbs, Fighter sweeps, Circus missions, escorts, etc...

I'll post some WIP shots here until it's finished:

This will be fun......
Looking at the comments by Canon on the imminent release of the Final, it gives the impression that there have been changes to the map size..... I don't know if this will affect missions built upon the Beta and whether they will still work on the Final....I hope so anyway.

Yes, the size of the final version will be different, so I'll have to adjust the waypoints, the ground objects, etc...but still, the major part is already finished.

I'm not sure you CAN actually adjust your missions from the old map to the new map, technically speaking, but then again I'm no Tecchie.

I myself have halted all mission-building for this theatre while I wait for Canons new map. But you can, as someone already said, of course use the old map.

who could bear to use the old map after seeing the wonderful textures for the new one?

shifting Objects isn't too much problem because if you use the FMB+ then you can select a group and move as a group....such as a populated airfield....and then individually correct things when zoomed in.... still much easier than rewriting the whole mission

as for planes...their waypoints can be adjusted quite quickly too

moving trains and ships and vehicles require a little bit more work

shouldn't be too hard

Squadron leader Hugo Armstrong (you'll be his number 2. Better stick to him like glue if you want to return home in one piece)

With that picture of your Top Cover i wonder why no one has asked you what are your config settings for Il-2 and nTune (if you got Nvidia card)

Can't wait for it!
i don't know if anyone asked but is that for the English Channel map? if so I hope not because the new one is different size so heads up

As Canon has just announced that the final version of the Channel map will be out after Christmas, I think I!ll release the campaign for the beta version, and then, convert it to the final and re-release it.

What do you guys think?
