[MOD]B17SoundsV1.3
#1

Ok as most people requested my sounds with a readme, i have added a readme and also a new link to mediafire http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f3867...b9a8902bda
These sounds give the b17 more drone and a new engine startup. I always hated the soundmod's
4 engined bomber sound so i took some from a B17 airshow clip that i had

This is a great mod. The drone is an especially nice effect. The crackling I got on the orginal B17 sounds is gone! And gettng the same sound on the B-24 is a welcome bonus.

Are these identical to the v1.2? Mediafire has been throwing a hissy fit for the last few days and won't allow me to click download.

Great sound when you fire them up and all. But somehow they get awfully quiet when on full power....

And when there is a formation of B-17s flying close together it seems like there is only one B-17, I can hardly hear others. Also, when I press F3 flyby view, it gets quiet all too quickly.

Good sounds that could be just right with little tuning. Finaly someone got around to fix those 'default' sounds we had with mods.

Keep up the good work! (make them louder and constant on all power settings - I want the opposite - louder when I'm on full power, not when I'm taxiing Wink ).

PS: I use AAA Unified mod installer only.

Hey TH0R,

hm... in my game the B17-sound is loud on full throttle.

Do you have switched on the Audio Extention ?

I'm also useing Quadrophonic Sound settings...

Hope that helps.

Unified mod installer + few small mods (weapon hits from 3rdeye and blade prop fix for bombers).

I have EAX enabled (via that .bat file), and I have audio extensions on + surround sound settings.

HARDWARE: CL XTreme Music soundcard + 5.1 analog headphones.

For me it is quieter when I go full power.

Any tips?

Hi Thor, which .bat file is this? I have EAX on an XFi card and would like to try it.

Typing this away from home so...

If you have Unified Installer - there is a .bat file called (I think) 'EAXon', in your IL2 root directory. In any way - look into UI readme which can also be found there.

Don't get me wrong - I love these sounds, but somehow they lack in quality for me. When I fly in large formation of bombers with my squadron, I just don't get that 'massive' feeling. And engines are more quiet for me when I'm on full power... :?:

As for sound mod version - I thought that UI has 9.3? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
