I feel stupid for asking this because I am probably the only person who hasn't figured it out yet, but, how do you capture screenshots in IL2? Is there some hotkey that I missed or do I need image capturing software? Thank you so much comrades.

Hello.
Push "print screen" button, next to F12? (in my keyboard).
Screenshot goes to your "IL2 root" grab0001, grab0002...
It's by default TGA format. You need mod viewtopic.php?t=2165 or program (I use gimp) if you want to change format.

that helps a lot. What frustrated me the most was that I found a screenshot in the IL2 folder but I didn't know how I captured it. I then spent ages pressing every key and every Ctrl and Shift key combination. It turns out that I missed the Print Screen key. Anyways, thanks very much.

try the Fraps program

It is not freeware, but there is a free trial version, which is restricted in its functionality, but still offers many possibilities. You'll get bitmaps as screenshots, and up to 30 seconds of films when you do screen captures.
