Need Unlocked FMB help

Couple of questions

1 Unlocked FMB is a black screen with a white square in the middle. When I zoom in, entire screen is white. I have no land textures visable. Can view objects. This does not appear normal based on the posts I have read. Is there a way to fix this?

2. Although I can't see them until I switch back to FMB+, I am able to paste tiles. I can not use the Height feature. I assume this feature allows me to change land elavations, but I have had no luck. Any suggestions?

I am running Vista if this matters.

Unlocked FMB means FMB which allows you to change maps right? If so maybe you have a weird problem I saw only once with some M8 having it, and it was a conf.ini thing. I sent my conf.ini to him, and the problem was gone this way, the map mode FMB would work. i have no idea though what was the conf.ini setting which prevented the map mode FMB... In any case you can try my conf.ini (please back up yours) and see if it fixes it

Lowfighter,

THX!!! Works great now. Have map detail at all levels of zoom. Compared my file to yours and of course there were some differences, wish I was smart enough to know which ones prevented me from seeing detail when I zoomed in.

New to this mapping and want to make sure I understand how to edit maps in FMB b4 I try to get into microdem and make a map. I just haven't figured out the height adjustment in Unlocked FMB yet. Can get the dots to appear but can't get the elevation to change.

Good it solved you, it looks it must be a very rare setting in your conf.ini, because up to now only you and some other M8 had this problem..If you have time you might try to copy-paste blocks from your original conf.ini into the one I sen't you and at each step check that map FMB works ok, till it will not work anymore so you know approximately what part of conf.ini gives problem..

I don't know all height tricks but:
Open a map, select height-> fill then go to 3d mode. Scroll the mouse wheel, you'll see the elevation change. Next change the position of the red ball still in 3D and hit "insert" , you'll see that the elevation changes to the elevation you got when you scrolled with the mouse wheel... The peak and blur also can work using mouse scroll, also check what happens if you change the fill tile size (in 2D mouse right-click ...)
