Hello!

This is my new smoke mod. It's supposed to give you better smoke than stock, but still deliver good framerates. It's a simple mod, made out of new textures that replaces the stock smokes.

Besides smoke it also replaces Contrails and wing tip concensation thingies (they shouldnt even be there but it's good for on line gaming when you can see when enemy is about to stall )

Before using this mod, make sure that any other smoke mod is uninstalled first, i.e by pacing a "-" in front of the folder name.

Download this file:

and unzip the content to your MODS folder.

I made this mod to save fps for on line gaming, I love the other smoke mods too but sometimes I get very low fps and it would ruin a lot when in a dogfight and your pride is at stake hahaha.

Looks very nice. I am using 3rdEye's smoke/fire mod, so does you smke mod also change the fire effect too?

Charlie19, in a way yes, it's some new textures for the fire, but if you don't like it, you could always delete the fire textures.

I used to use 3rdeye's smoke mod, but unfortunately there's this crashed bomber problem that will get me in trouble on line (too weak graphicscard)

this one is intended for those who want better fps.
you can always delete this mod if you don't like it by deleting the "flushys smoke mod" folder

This mod fix FPS killer crash plane? Please contact Holy Grail to do a version with intermitent fire, is a great mod.

Please, can you just make a note in the first post that this mod is all only in 2D , not to confuse
other folks who might think , that they will get brand new 3D smoke with less FPS killing .

with 2D there is no crashed plane parts black smoke issue because it's running original game 2D stock smoke with just different textures so there is no issue and never was with black smoke .
Is there really a need to add intermittent fire to the 2D smoke ?

Well, it works and looks great for me Flushy! I never really had a problem with the 'bomber crashing FPS' but I think this is nice and subtle - not really a comprimise at all!

Great work, as usual, But IMHO in need to be merged if it's possible with fantastic intermittent fire mod from HolyGrail (maybe an alternative eyecandy "Class A" for not so much performing rigs)

That's weird... When using your mod, I get black wingtip vortices... Looks kindof like ink is pooring from my wingtips :O

Strike, hmm I actually made new vortices so they shouldn't be black at all, did you move anything in the mod to make it work with another mod perhaps?

The only problem I'm seeing is that wingtip smoke is brown-ish now lol.

yeah that's right, they're brown'ish. Any chance you could change them back to white? I don't think this is conflicting with other mods..
