Hello:
New here hope i'm posting this in right section..if not just let me know. Trying to get the Mods to
work on my laptop with Vista. I loaded il 2 1946 dvd and played it, worked great. Then patched it with 4.08 played it no problem. So I down loaded and ran the" AAA Unified Installer & files " the computer will not even start the program. I tried it with the program on just the "C" drive as well as
in "C:\Programs\Ubisoft\IL2 1946 4.08\. THis is a new laptop with no other programs loaded other than OEM programing. I have turned off the Vista pubic firewall and the user account control. I have successfully converted my two tower computers with the Mods and they both run great.
Any body able to point me down the right path here? Wanted it on the laptop so I could play while on a boring vacation..

Actually it's not stalling ...I can't get it to start even by clicking the icon inside the folder.

hmm, so it doesnt even start the game?

try moving the game from the Program files into another folder (make Games folder in the C drive)

I'm having trouble with the mods on my new PC with Vista, had no trouble at all on my old machine with XP. If the game is set to load version 4.08 without mods the game freezes at 95%. The game will load successfully if using version 4.08 mods enabled but the splash screen is blank (just a white screen) and some of the text (mostly in the campaign section) is in Russian. Even when using version 4.08 mods enabled the load time has slowed to a snail pace, the game loaded in seconds before the mods were installed. I'm not sure what the problem is, and nobody seems to be able to tell me....

from what i have heard, 95% loading is the sound issue, or maybe i am confusing with 5%

Hello:
Okay I moved it from programs to its own folder on "C" called "Games il2" no luck still won't load.
Then I went into to the folder right clicked on the start icon and in the "Properties" box under compatbiltly and cllicked run as "XP". Still don't work....I am tired tomorrow another day.

Try to modify the lines of the confi.ini file with the resolution of your laptop screen as an example

height=1024

if the resolution is not the correct one the game will not start

Right click the exe for the mod and click on run as administrator....should do the trick for ya.

Hello:
Just an update here...right clicking and "run as adminstrator" does not work either. I have tried every combination of resolution available.
For now i'm considering wiping the hard drive and installing "XP". Vista is just not user friendly
in my opinion.
