buttons file

Is there an updated buttons file including the AI v.3.3 planes (Late Mark Spits, Battle) along with the Betas (Magister and the Bf109s by Muas)?

So why do I have a CTD at 60% with the AI v.3.3? Sad
I used to use the "all mighty" butons file from Muas... :?

I dont know if I can help but I had a CTD when trying to install new planes. What did the trick for me was make a clean UI install then I went to the Spit XIV c and e download. Got the wrapper and the ac installer 3.3 and all worked great.

He Guys,
99% of the time the 60% CTD is caused because of a conflict between the Air.ini and the buttons file. If you use the latest Aircraft Installer that is the latest buttons file to date. Make sure that when you install planes try to do a manual install with them. It really helps you understand the file breakdown of the game.
If I were you I'd check to see if you are missing a plane in your Air.ini file that's most likely the problem the buttons file has it listed and you probably have it in your Weapons. ru and your Plane.ru files but not in your Air.ini file...Just my 2 cents

I used an automatic installer (after doing everything manually for the last dozen aircraft or so) and now Il-2 doesn't run at all (even with the original 4.08 sfs and exe)? Any ideas?

Time to reinstall I guess...

what Badger says.

these files should be checked.

don't just trust the fire and forget exes. try to understand what they are doing.

Hi'
Have a very close check in the air.ini / plane.ini and weapons.ini

Please correct me if I am wrong on the following.

The buttons file CAN have information on planes that are NOT installed in Air.ini and planes_ru.properties (IL2 will not crash) but NOT the other way around.

Is this statemetn TRUE or FALSE Smile

Thank you much.

Then I really need the list of planes included in the latest buttons file since I cannot make the Modactivator version of it work form AC 3.1 to now.

I thought it would be the Bf109E1 that I have installed and maybe it was removed from the AC 3.1 and after but it looks that it is not. So I cannot figure out which plane I have installed and IS NOT included in the AC 3.1 (modactivator version of it)

Symptom: 60%-70% loading crash with versions AC 3.1 to 3.3

I uninstall /installed/patched/ auto and manualy installed the planes in the game i bet 10 times and always got the 60% crash. So with a clean install i went into Hyper Lobby and ask why this was happening......i was told to go to the Spitfire XIV page and ....to #1 install the warpper...#2 install the AC installer and when i ask for the sound mod......select #6 (i had been selecting the one i have#5)then install the plane......this worked for me...ever time i install a new plane i just select #6 and the game runs fine...........i hope this works for you....Im running XP not Vista...XRA..71st Eagles Squadron

Thanks XR-A
I really would like to run the Mod activator since I like to use the original engine sounds. I don't have the Spit XIV installed. As a matter of fact with the exception of the Bf 109 E1, all planes installed are the ones included in UI 1.1.1. No other newer plane or mod of existing is installed.

I have disabled the Bf 109 E1 in all pertaining areas: folder, air.ini, plane_ru.properties and the crash is still there.

I have done the same test in three other PCs with the same effect.

As an additional comment, the AC installer 3.0 (mod activator option) is working fine.

I have a hunch that the problem lies within the mod activator option of the AC installer since I don't see any reports of the same kind and people that want the original engine sounds are in the silent minority Smile

Update:
My hunch is getting more confirmed: I just switched my IL2mod to pure UI 1.11 and installed the AC_installer 3.3, option #6, and it is loading fine.
So there has to be a conflict in the #option 4 (Mod activator). I wish I new more to investigate myself Sad

I tried a fresh install of the UI v.1.1
I installed the Spit XIV and I got only the c variant...where was the e :?
The game was working though...
I installed the Bf109-E3 and... CTD at 60%
If the latest AC Installer includes the Betas why is this happening?
The "all mighty" buttons file I used to have was 1007 KB...
The AC Intaller's one is 810 KB...

PS the Spit XIV E variant was there all the time...I couldn't see it being an LF model and thus in another place in alphabetical order...

I started with a clean 1946...then patched to 408m...next i patched it to 1.11....then went to here... (The link is inoperative) and got the sound mod ... once that was installed i went here... (The link is inoperative) ...i fist installed the warpper then the AC installer V3 ...when it ask for the sound mod selection (choose #6) then i installed the Spitfire XIV using the auto installer ....this was the 1st plane i installed... i then checked the sim to see if it would run and bingo all worked fine....next i setup the canopy to open and the side door to open and since then ive added Spit XII / Tigermoth / Magister and when ever it ask for the sound selection i choose #6 and all is running fine.........i hope if you try this ....that it will work for you....i know this can be very frustrating.......XRA..71st Eagles Squadron
