I am running IL-2 1946 on Windows 7 Beta and I ran into a problem with the Unified Installer 1.1 which was that the "switcher" did not install automatically like it normally does when all 8 parts of U1.1 install into the main IL-2 1946 game folder.

Is the "switcher" (for choosing which version of the game to run) available for seperate download or is it only part of the main installation of all 8 parts of the U1.1?

download and install win 7 rc build 7100.
Works much better with il2 hyperlobby teamspeak overlay teamspeak and so on.

When installing the il2 again pluss the other win7rc build 7100 should reconize the programs by it self and send them to the x86 folder.
When all is installed you must go in and give each and every one of the programs admin rights so they run properly and dont get stopped all the time by win7.

you can also set the compabilety to winxp so the programs are runned as in winxp and not win7.

read this if installing win7 rc over your beta.

No dont delete your beta.
What you do is download the new win7 rc.
Burn it to a dvd.
Start up your win7 beta.
Insert your new win7 rc and run it in the win7 beta window.
Choose full install, and NOT update also choose the installationpath to the same path/partition(ex E:/) as your beta has. then lean back and relax while it installs.
It will then pack your old beta into its own folder wich you safely can delete afterwards.
I asume you are using dual boot. and this will be repaird by itself when the new win7 gets installeed. so when finnished you will still have the only 2 options. old windows(xp or what ever) pluss win7.

If you arent doing dual boot nothing should happen and it will run like before(but with new win7)

This is how i did it and it took about 15 min then all was nicely installed and i deleted the old betafolder.
but ofcourse. back up all you have in documents and so on before doing the install!
