Weird distortion on edge of large map?
#1

I have a strange distortion problem which only occurs near the western edge of my big Belarus map. The lakes and rivers lose their shape and just become large "squares" of whatever texture. It makes it impossible to clean up the textures - i.e. get trees out of the water - and just plain looks freaky!

Anyone know what this is caused by and how to cure it?

You mentioned this to me before but I'm not sure what you're talking about either without a screenshot. I'm not on my home computer now so I can't look at your map to see.
Not sure if this would fix it but... have you drawn a 1-2 pixel border of ONE fields texture around the outside border of the map?

OR, hmm, maybe it has something to do with your map edges C,T,H not lining up properly. I dunno, just guessing.

I noticed something like that on my map too but when using 'excellent' settings. When I switched to 'perfect' it looked better. Which settings are you using?

It happens when you have 'WATER' tiles occuring over land and you're near the edge. Simply get rid of any 'black' from where map_c and map_t don't line up, and it'll be fine.

Thanks, will follow that advice. Although it's tough to do since the map is so distorted,

I'm using excellent since my old vidcard won't do perfect.
