I have a little problem with doing a FMB mission that the RAF will attack a german convoy that it has static ships and i am doing all the waypoints , the position to attack the convoy is a Ground Attack and when they are at 100 m altitude they are climbing up to 200m and then they drop the torpedo from 200m , How could i do a proper torpedo attack ?
Help will be much appreciated
I have the same problem, i don't know how to fix it :?
Ive noticed in mission building that for instance,
if the attack waypoint is 100m then in order to stay at 100m you will need another waypoint at 100m past the bomb drop in order for the AI to remain at set altitude.
If the attacking waypoint is 100m and the next waypoint is some distance off and set at a higher altitude, the AI once passing the 100m attack waypoint will then automatically start to climb for the next waypoint if it is at a higher altitude than the waypoint they just past.
try putting in another waypoint just past the ships to be torpedoed at 100m,
this way when they reach the 100m torpedo attacking waypoint they will stay at altitude untill they reach the next 100m waypoint, from this second 100m waypoint they will start to climb to the next waypoints altitude.
Easy
This is a real weird thing and it seems never to function correct all the time.
My last mission was with the B5N2 and the D3A1 attacking a US fleet with battleship and a carrier.
Waiponts for both flights set to 3000 meters speed 300.
Also the altitude at groundattack was set to 3000 meters.
B5N1 where carrieng torpedoes and the D3A1 was carrying bombs.
I didnt try to calculate time of arrival for the planes vs the ships at all but just made the plains fly over the ships waypoint and added the carrier as a target for the B5N2 and the battleship for the D3A1.
And in both cases the plains attacked as they should. B5N2 dived down from 3000 meters and dropped their torps at about 10 meters height and all of them hit their target.
So did the D3A1.
When i use along time calculating and setting up groundtargets and try over and over again to adjust setting so they hit target they sometimes do and sometimes dont.
But on the one i sett a high waypoint for all before and after ground attack all plaines hit.
Exeptions are if the targets gone before the last plaine dropps torps or bombs. If targets gone they wont dropp or attack other ships nearby even if they still have theire ordanance.

Bigbossmalone is right with his recommendations. You can also open in FMB e.g. my myssions in QMB+:

there are several AI torpedo attacks successfully performed.
