I had attempted to register twice though my ISP addresses, which happen to be att.yahoo.com mail servers.
What seemed to happen, is that AT&T ( and perhaps yahoo.com ) is *silently* stopping what it considers SPAM, so it does not even appear in your junk/spam folders, and it considered AAA's activation email SPAM
My solution was to use my @wingwalkers.org address, which accepted the activation email
another problem here at AAA, is that if you don't get the activation email, you now have an 'inactivated' account. which ties up the particular username you chose, and even if you register successfully with a different email, you can not change your profile name to the one in the 'inactivated' account, it is "taken", with no way for you, the user, to delete it from the system here
it's also a bit of time and trouble for the administators here to delete such 'inactivated' accounts, and there is no email contact for such purposes
