work space question
#1

So i've got my workspace set up, following the online tutorial. I've followed every step, three times over just to check my work.

You know how the views are separated by quadrants: top, front, left, and perspective, well i'm only seeing my work space materials in the perspective quadrant, where the other quads are showing the wireframe planes that the materials are colored onto.

I've searched in the program for a setting to change this, but when i change to use the material colors, under display, it changes the wireframes to a gray color rather than show the material on that plane.

So i'm wondering if there is another setting in the configuration that was not covered in the tutorial.

Hopefully, there is someone who knows how to do this.

thanks

Bill

I presume you are talking about 3ds Max?
Right click in top left of the quadrant and a menu appears giving you a choice of display type.

If the rendered view changes to boxes when you rotate try pressing the O button.

actually im using Gmax, which i wonder if this feature is a difference in the programs, or if its possible to get the same views as seen under the 3dsmax tutorial.

ok got it,

i right click on the name of the quadrant and it brings up a window, with more options.

I was stuck right clicking and looking at the other display options which inlcude freeze and unfreeze.

thanks
