Long Vehicles Convoys Mod by Bimmel

[Image: longvehiclesmod.jpg]

This mod enables long trains and long convoys of vehicles in cooperation- and in Zuti Moving Dogfight Missions.
Selectable in the FMB are german, russian and US convoys.
Handle them and set waypoints as usual.
As an additional feature you can also double the numbers of tanks.
Instead of 4 tanks 8 respectively 6 tanks are selectable.

You have new entrys in the FMB:

Germany
============================
- Ger. Supply Car Column Type Long
- Ger. Tank Column Type Long
- Ger. Tank Column Doubled
- Ger. Freight Train/AA Type Long

Russia
============================
- Rus. Supply Car Column Type Long
- Rus. Tank Column Type Long
- Rus. Tank Column Doubled
- Rus. Freight Train/AA Type Long

US
============================
- US Supply Car Column Type Long
- US Tank Column Type Long
- US Tank Column Doubled

The convoys include about 50 units each.

INSTALLATION
------------
1. Select german or english version with or without ShipPack2 (The link is inoperative) depending wether you have installed the ShipPack2 or not.

2. Save your technics_ru.properties (..\files\i18n\) and also your chiefs.ini (..\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\).

Is it possible to mod the intervals between vehicles? I find the short length due to lack of realistic interval less realistic than the length caused by the number of vehicles in the column.

I think changing the distances between the cars would need some programming work within the game intself, so nor Bimmel neither i can do that.

pretty cool, pretty simple and easy to mod!

I got a convoy with not 5 or 10 or 50. I used your Ger. Supply Car Column Type Long to do a convoy...... 300 cars :twisted: YES! 300!!!! Ownage!!! I got huge convoys now cause its simple to edit your files. GReat work man!

Actually this is something you can do yourself easily. But you have to do it for each vehicles independently:

Look for the convoy you want to change in the chief.ini and see waht vehicles make up this convoy. Then lookup these vehicles in the technics.ini.
You will find an entry "best space"
This is the space the vehicle will keep between itself and the vehicle in front. I used the value 32.0 as it seems more natural to me (in real time vehicles don't tend to drive to close together, especially when there is an air threat).
In this way your convoys will be longer without fps loss (especially if you use some of the very high standard custom vehicles skins).

I have made my own custom convoys longer by adding more space + adding 2 or 3 vehicles to each column (+ changing the types ;-)..

Nice looking mod!

I'm sure you will get all the linkees sorted out in time. Meanwhile, I'm sure anyone who clicks on the Notify option will get an update when ever it is live again.

Hey thank you for being here AAS!

Cheers
