Adding the F-86A5 and MiG-15bis to DCG
#1

1st let me thank Fresco for the help he gave me earlier. You got me going in the right direction. I found tha DCG is Case sensitive and everything has to be spelled EXACTLY right or it won't work. So here is what I have.

**WARNING**
I had a friend who used my class.dcg file and for some reason the MiG can be selected for a squadron replacement acft but the Sabre does not show even though Both aircraft are in the Aircraft Class Settings window and loaded correctly. Still puzzling that one over. Both work fine for me.

Anyway, Here is what you need.

To add the F-86A5 and the MiG-15bis, place these entries in the class.dcg file in the DCG Data Folder (DCG 3.42\Data)

F_86A5 F-86A-5 Sabre us 1 1 1 194906 196012 none F-86A-5 none 5000 Meters 600.00 kph Default 600.00 kph
Mig_15bis MiG-15(bis) ru 1 1 1 194906 196012 none MiG-15(bis) none 5000 Meters 600.00 kph Default 600.00 kph

Place these entries in the allpayloads.dcg file located in the DATA Folder (DCG 3.42\Data) to place ordinance on the F-86A5. Unfortunately, only the 120gal tanks will be available in the
Aircraft Class Settings for loadouts. Haven't figured that out yet. HOWEVER, if you are a flight or squadron leader, you can select the rest of the loadouts for your flight to include the
207gal droptanks and the 2x1000lb bombs.

F_86A5 D 2x120gal
F_86A5 D 2x207gal
F_86A5 B 2x1000

IMPORTANT NOTE
If you do not copy and paste these entries, PLEASE make sure you type them EXACTLY as shown or you will have problems.

REQUEST:
Could some of you adventurous types please try this (it worked for me) and see if you are able to make it work for you too? I'm finding that there are still a few small issues I haven't been able to solve and would really like to get situated before going whole hog.

1. I shared my CLASS.DCG file with a friend and he could not see the MiG in the DCG Squadron Editor screen, but it shows up in the Aircraft Class Settings screen.

2. I am now having an issue where I cannot start anymore offline or online campaigns. Don't know if this has anything to do with this or not since I had an offline F-86A5 campaign going, but then tried to start an online campaign (that didn't work).

So, any takers?

Hi Grant!

Copy this line above the F2A2 line in the class.dcg:

F_86A5 F-86A5 us 1 1 1 194908 196012 none F-86A5 none 5000 Meters 600.00 kph Default 600.00 kph

payloads.dcg: Copy this above the F2A2 line in the payloads.dcg:

F_86A5 2x1000 default 2x1000 2x120gal none default

Greetings! Smile

Sorry,I have forgotten to write!
I tested this example above in a third party Campaign,it comes not in the "Data/allpayload.dcg"!
I have tried your F-86 line in my Campaign but DCG switched in the Briefing panel to the P-63C for my Squadron!

For the Mig-15 I have this in my third party folder:

Class.dcg: Mig_15bis MiG-15(bis) ru 1 1 1 194906 196012 none MiG-15(bis) none 5000 Meters 600.00 kph Default 600.00 kph

payloads.dcg: Mig_15bis default default default none none default

Tested both Jets and it works!

I hope it helps! Smile

Apparently it must be possible to have either the Soviets or the US turn from red to blue or else you cannot have a MiG 15 fight the F86.

I'm planning a massive 1946 campaign involving Soviets against the world basically and still have not received an answer as to how you can have the Soviets go blue and the Germans join the Red side. Is this possible in DCG? If it is can you give me a hint as to how to do it?

I would love to try and use DCG instead of doing all the missions in FMB (shivers).

I've never tried it but try to change the Nation in the class.dcg file in your third party campaign folder!?

Example:
Mig_15bis MiG-15(bis) ru 1 1 1 194906 196012 none MiG-15(bis) none 5000 Meters 600.00 kph Default 600.00 kph

Change to:
Mig_15bis MiG-15(bis) ja 2 1 1 194906 196012 none MiG-15(bis) none 5000 Meters 600.00 kph Default 600.00 kph

I've run into another problem. I had and F-86 campaign going, but now I cannot get DCG to launch ANY campaigns at all. In fact, I reinstalled Il2 with all the mods and such and reinstalled DCG, but I cannot launch any campaigns. I am at a total loss. It won't even run stock campaigns without DCG.

Have you in your current installation of UI 1.2 the both jets installed and did you after the deinstallation of IL-2 all DGen Files deleted!
Sorry that I ask this, because this was a problem that happened to me for years!

I did a complete uninstall and reinstall to include re-inputting the jets.

I'm sorry to mess up this posting with my questions. I don't know DCG at all but I will make an attempt to learn it as I have learned the FMB (what a pain). I just need to know if anyone has been successful in changing a whole nation from one side to the other. If not then the point is moot as I'm talking about at least 75 planes and dozens of objects that have to all be changed.

Hi, Hairog!

Theoretically, you'd have to convert all the Russian vehicles and aircraft on Blue Party and the German on Red in your Master .mis file!
Practically I do not know if this changes support DCG, wait for a response from Lowengrin or another which is more familiar with DCG!

I had someone mention this to me; has anyone tried deactivating the Zuti mod and seeing if that solves the problem?

I've removed it from the start! I can not say! Try it!
