Yes I must say.

Load times really do drag.

I agree with both guys above what based on what they have said. Most significant change in load times was from going 320GB Hard drive primary and make it secondary, meanwhile I got Corsair 64gb Solid State Disk.

I know, this may not be the best solution because not all can afford the new technology.

Ultrapack claims to have better load times because they use a unified file structure (all files in common subdirectories, AAA uses different subdirectories for everything). Personally though, I tried it out and it still took about the same time to load, although this could just be me. I also found their system very difficult to customize because there was no way to know which hashfiles belonged to which mod.

Still something like that might be worth exploring. Is there a way wrapper.dll could be modified to speed up load times?

My load times aren't that horrible, probably a minute at most, and offline its much shorter than that.

What i've done is picked the mods that i consider essential. If you are playing online then of course its good to know which planes you might need.

Anyway, i made another folder called "-mods" which has only about 20 mods. I use that folder for a more stream lined upload. I'm online and in the game with in 20 seconds.

I guess servers that want to run CRT=2 and mods could list the mods that are required. I don't see the point in loading every plane if the server isn't going to feature them.

It would then make it possible for the user to keep a folder for mods designated for a particular server. Its really up to the server people though.
