(Help) Water reflections flickering
#1

so I just got a quad core SLI rig and I must say that this is great, my fps in all my games shot through the roof. My only down fall is the boy who owned it first put duel 9500gt cards in it instead of something better. But for $400, I guess I should shut the #$%k up and be happy. Anyways I got a problem with water reflections flickering on all water settings exept water=0, which has no reflections. And I mean all reflections, clouds or mountains or whatever. They flick and jerk from left to right just a little bit. The cloud reflections also seem to be a slight shade of brown. I browsed the forum for awhile with no luck, so I finally broke down to ask some one. I know theres a cure because I had this problem a long time ago. but I cant seem to remember what is causing it. will someone point me in the right direction plz

btw I'm running 4.09m unmodded on perfect
btw plz hurry with UI 4.09 so I can get back to using 6dof

I seem to recall something about this...it has to do with one of the two types of SLI mode, Alternate Frame and Split Frame, but I can't recall which is the culprit. Apparently one of those causes the artifact you are seeing, so try changing the SLI mode in your driver panel and see if it does the trick.

Your frame rates may go down a bit, because I think the mode that works for IL-2 Perfect Landscape is the slower of the two.

You might also want to try disabling the SLI mode.

I have a quad core CPU and ATI 4890 Crossfires. When I had the Crossfires on, I would get 30 FPS in certain situations and could not have Hardwareshaders=1 or I would get a black sky. Then I read a thread here about IL2 not liking dual cards versus a single video card. I disabled my Crossfires, and all of a sudden I got 50 FPS in the same scene and could now set Hardwarshaders=1 and get great reflections.

As a result, give your nVida's a single card try and see what happens to your game.
