Hidden .mis files in Vista
#1

I created a mission on a friends computer running vista, however when I went to copy the .mis file it must be hidden.

It doesn't show up , yet the mission is there in FMB, it can be edited in FMB and played on that computer but I can't see it to copy in windows explorer.

Is there a setting in vista that has to changed?

It's allready set to show hidden files.

Maybe it's not where you think it is.

Saved under: IL-2 Sturmovik 1946/Missions/Net/dogfight/My Missions in FMB.

I can access it form there in game (FMB or playing the mission)

It's just not visible when using windows explorer.

Doesn't Vista use some odd alternate path?
Have you tried searching for files with .mis extension?

Nightjar Wrote:Yes, all the pre-installed missions and downloaded campaigns are shown but no "user created" stuff at all!

My problem exactly :veryangry:

I had il2 installed on an external harddrive so I did a little test.

created a mission in vista and the .mis files were hidden. plugged the drive into an XP machine and they were visible.

Does anybody know if this happens under Windows7?

Sorry for the late reply I was a little busy.

The best solution is not to install IL-2 into the programs files.

I've updated to Windows 7 and installed IL-2,

C:/Ubisoft/IL-2 Sturmovik 1946

I did the same the the Vista computer and no problems now.
