FMB slowdown, really annoying! Please help!

Hi guys,

I'm having a strange problem that i've only notice since UI 1.2.

I'll start making up a mission in FMB and after a few minutes it'll start to slow down, with the mouse response being jerky to say the least.
Now, this only seems to happen when I have a moveable object selected (aircraft, vehicles etc) and I can see a waypoint.
If I zoom right in, and I can see the heading lines but no waypoints then all is smooth. Likewise if i have no object selected. The minute I click on a waypoint, wham, it turns into a slideshow. To be honest it is making mission editing practically impossible.
Also, the mission i am trying to make at the moment uses the Balaton map and all stock aircraft and vehicles, no mods, though i'm running in 409 mods on.

I've tried disabling Zutis mod, but this has no effect.
I'm pulling my hair out here, anyone know what I can do?!!!!!

I don't know what you can do, but I have the exact same problem. I hope this gets fixed, because I cannot make my DCG campaigns with this issue ...

Hi. I read somewhere here on a forum, that somebody had same problem.
It has some connection with memory owerflowing (CTRL+ALT+DEL and check RAM memory usage-it is constantly increasing, even if you have 4GB, like i have) and I think, that it is connected with graphics textures in some way, because temporary SOLUTION is switch over to DirectX rendering before you will use full mission builder (FMB). After you are done in FMB, switch back to OpenGL.

I would like to know too, if there is different stable (better) solution for this weird problem.

Hmmm interesting.
Glad it's not just me, in a way.
I'll try the DirectX solution and see how i get on.

What version are you guys running? Do you only get it in 409+Mods?
I've not yet tried it in 408...

Thanks for your replies guys.

I have this problem in 4.08, 4.08 + UI 1.1, 4.09 without mods.

I think it is not connected with version or some mods, but what i can remember it starts after i have installed UI 1.1 BUT i made clean install of 4.08 and 4.09 after problems had started and this bug is still there.

#1) il2 is made as an "OPENGL " flight model. It is not made to work with Direct X.

If your computer is not a fast computer with 600 watts or so power supply it just is not going to perform as well as you want no matter what you do. Especially when you add mods etc to your game.

I have a top of the line motherboard, 650 watts power supply and 4 gigs memory along with a Nvidia GTX 280 graphics card & the game runs very well in all of the various modes.

I used to be able to run FMB smooth as a babies bottom on the 352nd Mod install, but since a fresh install and UI1.2 it's been slow. It's not my system spec that is at fault! Incidently, what OS is everyone using? Because i've only had fresh install + UI1.2 since upgrading to Win 7 64bit, though, so far Win 7 has been fantastic...
