i was looking at some Razorback pit views and something that i've been trying to work on is fixing the wind screen particularly the bullet proof glass plate that goes in front of the reticle. from these shots you can see that it sits right in front of the sight roughly a few inches away but the view in the game places it much further away and it might even be a bit smaller or at least appears that way because its further away than it should be.

anyway, i was looking for a way to move just the bullet proof glass if anyone knew how, please PM me thanks.

one last pick shows how far forward the pilot sits, which is another aspect i was playing with but in this pick you can see how little room the hood actually takes up.

It really amazes me just how young those pilots were, then it makes me think of the times I use to spend in the chow hall, examining the faces of the common Soldier, and every year that went by, I was amazed by how young our fighting men really are. To those then and now, I just want to say thanks for stepping up and being a true man. Soldiers today had an option, unlike those in WW2, todays military is ALL volunteer, and to me it takes a mighty big pair to enlist and put yourself into harms way, when you could just as easily not. To ALL military....one great big Salute

Thanks for sharing, Bill. That 2nd picture is of Donald S. Bryan who was part of the 328th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group. Bryan, who is 5 foot 7 inches stated that the Thunderbolt cockpit was so large and roomy that he had to use pillows all around the cockpit because he would get thrown around quite a bit. :lol:

this is what i was working with, but unfortunately i'm not familiar with how to adjust the 3d mesh files or at least i dont have the tools to do it properly.

But want i'm looking to get is a new default that puts the line of site through the gunsite rather than down the middle, and then correct the bullet proof glass in front of the site to give a better representation of the FOV.

Old default:

the square itself should be at an angle so that the base of the glass is further away from the site than the top of the glass, but i figure the rectangle shown is fair representation of the FOV.

I've looked at adjusting the line of site, which can be done only by editing the him file, however to get it so that you can still use the gunsite mode it will need to be adjusted in the 3d mesh. Im unable to do that.

I've used 6dof to get the effect, and edited a portion of the him file to get the default position centered this way.

any input or feedback, help with this little 3d edit would be appreciated.
