Request:Go-229 Stealth Mod
#1

Hello Im requesting a mod that will add more realism to the go-229 and the game for luft 46 scenarios.

Being that the Go-229 had stealth design and capabilites and AFAIK it is possible to replicate this in game.

What needs to happen with this is that enemy cannot detect you when you are flying the Go-229 and they cant see through clouds etc aswell. And that they only have a certain percentage of detecting the go-229.

instead of not seeing the Go229 i'd rather the Do17 and Lanc not be stealth anymore...

someone is already working on a mod similar to this, only involving all aircraft....harder to see at night, can't see through clouds, etc. perhaps that can be a basis for what you'd like.

That is what Im looking for and that is how I know this can be done. But with that mod maybe a sperate more improved version for the go-229.

The "shape" of the Go-229 makes it a bit stealthy but if you asked an stealth aircraft engineer or designer I'm pretty sure they would tell you that design is mostly useless in stealth. It's nothing like a B2 Spirit or F-117 Nighthawk that uses radar absorbant paint and much more in the angles of each part of the plane...

Actually the some of the design of the B-2 came from the captured go-229 and the go-229 did have radar absorbant materials and the aircraft was Highly effective against british radar of the time. The cheif designer of the B-2 said so himself lols and I can get the proof.

Quote:Stealth and the Ho IX

The charcoal and sawdust mixture is of special note here for it essentially became the first true attempt to make an aircraft take on "stealth" like qualities intended to absorb incoming radar signals and deflate the outgoing signature. The mixture balance was purposely engineered to absorb the electromagnetic waves put out by British early warning ground-based radar systems defending the British mainland - the system responsible for the British victory over Germany in the Battle of Britain. Britain utilized a series of inter-connected radar and radio stations to detect and react to incoming flights of German bombers and fighters in a network that would become collectively known as "Chain Home". Though this attempt at stealth technology was rather infant at the time and thusly never truly tested before, the mixture was found to be quite effective in 2008 under experimentation accomplished in a documentary by Northrop Grumman and the National Geographic Channel - an amazing fact considering the age that the Ho IX was developed in. The test proved the mixture to work as advertised and the result created a reduced radar signature for a new-build Ho 229. The signature was less than that of a standard (and rather smallish) Messerschmitt BF 109 fighter. The Ho 229 was further helped by the small forward and shallow side profiles made up only by the cockpit and engine bulges, the rest being nothing more than wing surface area.

Po2 was first stealth bomber Wink

I think we're kind of missing the point here - none of the planes in Il-2 detect other aircraft by radar - they use the Mk. I eyeball. Unless the plane is made of glass or has perfect camo, it's going to be spotted...especially a jet with two black smoketrails...

Agreed, The discussion is extremely pointless here. We have no form of radar at the time. And basically every object (ship, AAA etc) uses "L.O.S".

So to deem this possible (Historic or not) It would be pointless.

A bit off topic, but wouldn't the Mk.I eyeball only see in black&white or be an even more basic form of eye?
