Hi flyers,
I have a question: Is there available a simple way or template etc. to make large formations of B17's, B-24's in formation from (at least) one way point to another in the full mission builder? It is hard creating large formations of B17's in the mission builder map from one way point to another over distance. (Adjusting - Enlarging and Shrinking map size for groups of planes from one point to another let alone making a group turn. Just a mess with large formatins of bombers!) :???: NOTE: I read combat boxes were usually composed of 18 or 21 aircraft. The main formation was sub-divided into three staggered boxes of six aircraft, each comprising the lead, high and low squadrons. Typical altitudes for each were the first (lead) squadron at 25,000 feet, the second (high) squadron at 25,100 feet, and the third (low) squadron at 24,750 feet. All three formations occupying an area of sky some 750 feet deep. :?: B-24's flew at slighty lower altitudes than the B17. I know some raids (like one raid against Schweinfurt ) came in at lower altitudes but this is the general operating height. How do I set this up? What is the spacing between each plane required? I want to create some combat missions for 8th and 15th Airforce over Europe flying (& esorting) for and against with the Luftwaffe and Italian RA and ANR even Romanian. 8) Any suggestions or help appreciated. Thank you
