im sure there were other topics related to this but couldn't find any threads that gave any help..

so i downloaded the AAA 1.2 mod which overwrites 1.1 correct? now when i log onto HL and try to get into various servers, the game says "requires blah blah.... 4.09m" now i kknow in the game folder there are several switchers from 4.08 - 4.09. i have tried every switcher but still no luck... is it because i am using the 1.2 version? ... or is there by chance a switcher between 1.1 and 1.2?

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Well what you have is more or less DEAD for online play.
You have a BETA 4.09b1m .What the folks on line use is the 4.09m.
If you want that you need a clean install. Some thing like this.
Disk4.07---->4.08m----->4.09m {not what you have} ----HSFX-V4.0-----> HSFX-v4.1 or the { UP pact }


Patch the game to 4.09m using the official patches

4.09m patch http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=10276

Then apply the HSFX-V4.0 and HSFX 4.1 mod pack ---

End result is IL2 v4.9m HSFX4.1 --- Fully modded with new aircraft and maps and server compliant.

Clean install 4.07 disk----4.08m patch----4.09m patch---HSFX-V 4.0-------HSFX-V 4.1

Et voila! You can now run with 4.1

Yes HSFX does have most of every thing AAA has. Plus
AAA supports HSFX.
You will not be disappointed.

Yes, however, I would like to add that if you do offline flying and mods collecting, it would probably be a good idea to keep your copy of the UI 1.2 It is a huge collection of mods that has things which some guys prefer over more recent releases and remakes. You could keep it as a resource. I do.

If you have the download version of IL-2 4.08, then you will need this patch over it:

My suggestion to guys is that they join a well organized, friendly squadron and use what they use. They might use HSFX 4.1, for example.
