El-Alamein map not showing up
#1

So, I was trying out the Hs-129 Campaign and was about to start playing it, but for some unknown reason, I didn't see the map at all, while the rest of the screen before starting a mission seemed to work properly, anyone knows on how to correct this ??

I'm playing on the HSFX-4.1 right now if I'm not mistaken, I would've taken a picture of this, but I don't know how to do it, and if a camera is needed, I don't have any.

If u use HSFX or UP u need to rename the map in the mission files since the game load the map with the load.ini and not load_bp.ini (or something) like in the mission files.

This is the correct fix. The map was packed up for hsfx to call load.ini instead of load_bp.ini, which is the way I originally built it. It is unfortunate because it just adds to the confusion, but it is easy to fix in the mission files. -viking

Any chance something else might go wrong on the FMB or other campaigns ?? I have a bunch of others in there.

Have you tried the campaign patch for UP version?

The ones in the aoc file ?? It's the only one with maps on load.ini, and if it is, then I tried it and it then it didn't work.

Otherwise, can you at least tell me where I can find the files I have to fix ?? :?

Viking; Will changing the line in the map all.ini sort this out? i.e., to read: vkg_El_Alamein vkg_El_Alamein/load_bp.ini ?
EDIT; OK it won't help at all, in fact after doing this I could'nt get the map to load in FMB until I changed it back.

Anybody helping out ?? Cry

Not my fault if I'm not really good on computers, with some clearer explainations I could possibly do something about it. Cry

Here's a what to find in your missions (name.MIS Files): ( open and edit with notepad )
[MAIN]
MAP vkg_El_Alamein/load_blank_plate.ini ............ ( OR MAP vkg_El_Alamein/ load_ZAF.ini ).............( OR MAP vkg_El_Alamein/ load_bp.ini) ??
TIME 12.0
CloudType 0
CloudHeight 1000.0
player g0100
army 2
playerNum 0
[Wing]
r0100
g0100....et.c

(for UP2) CHANGE IT TO:

[MAIN]
MAP vkg_El_Alamein/load.ini
TIME 12.0
CloudType 0
CloudHeight 1000.0
player g0100
army 2
playerNum 0
[Wing]
r0100
g0100... et.c.

ALSO BE AWARE OF AN OLD PROBLEM if still using EL_Alamein as a MAPMOD in MODS:
"MTO_lowland_3 has been renamed MTO_lowland_3_Fields in the 4.09 final - so any map that uses this texture will not work ...
...you can edit the load.ini of these maps to add _Fields to the name of the texture to get them to load..."
If you still have: load_blank_plate.ini version in MODS or others, these (load.ini files) should read near the end:

Wood0 = land/summer/MTO_lowland_3_Fields.tga,2
Wood1 =
Wood2 = forest/summer/ForestFar.tga
Wood3 =
