How do you get them to work
I have the B29 SP with the bomb effects added... (big big mushroom cloud) in 4.08..

Now with 4.09 and HSFX411, the effects is not working-- dinky fatman explosion.. tried using jsme to enable the effect.. still not working. uuaggg!!

You need to go into your root game folder and make a new folder named "MODS" and place your mods in there. you can turn them off and on w/ adding or removing a - minus in front of the file name.

thks for quick reply.. So all I need to do is put the effects folder in the mods folder? or do I take the files out of the effects folder (and sub folders) and put them into mods?

The effects folder has 3 sub folders, fireworks, tracers and textures. Under the tracers folder is another sub folder also called textures or like this
G:\sims\WWII\flight\IL-2 1946_409\mods\effects\fireworks\7 files
G:\sims\WWII\flight\IL-2 1946_409\mods\effects\textures\ 3 files
G:\sims\WWII\flight\IL-2 1946_409\mods\effects\tracers\textures\ 2 files

12 files in all. Do I put these into mods folder?

I don't need the AC installer or sound mod do I??

ignore last request.. got it working, had to use whole b29silverplate folder in mods folder with effects installed into b29silverplate dir

The new planes are great.. wish would make a F4U-4, arguably the best US fighter of ww2 to see combat.. 445 mph, climbs like a yak3 or spitfire14

sorry, what is a Franken?? I wonder why there is all this ultra late war Russian and German stuff, but mediocore US, UK and Jap planes,, Kikka (japans copy of me262), Ki-83 Spitfire 14's Gloster Meteor 1,2 and 3, F8F Bearcat, F7F Tigercat, P51H, F2G Goodyear, P47N, Spitfull etc.

Most of the Russian stuff in 1946 was never created or only in testing stages AFTER the war.. Extreme fantasy favoritism for the Russian stuff 4 sure.. But can't complain, as it's the best all around flight sim EVER. and 4 many years most russian planes were excluded in most sims.. La7 Yak3 are top aircraft...
for planes to seen combat the La7, Yak3, F4U-4, spitfire 9 and 14 r top prop birds.. P51's are nice, but are British powered... not the F4U-4 , climbs as good as yak3 or ki84/N1K2 but faster 445 mph

HSFX 4.2, which I believe is due out next fall or late summer, will include the F4U-4 and F4U-5. The F7F and F8F are both in the process of being created, so they may be included as well, but don't quote me on those.
