emergency! i have just installed windows 7 on my computer which meant install il2 again... and when i test (on winXP compatibility mode) there is an extreme lag in gameplay and menu speed the sound is fine but the intro and everything else is balled up. i have tested vista and ALL xp compatibility modes and have downloaded the win xp mode thing and ran the installation. HELP ASAP

have you updated your video drivers?
i had the same problem, installed win7 drivers and it all worked great

If you cant update video cards drivers, just switch to DirectX mode.

I recently installed Win 7 on my system. I installed IL2 direct onto C: drive, updated and put HSFX with all patches. I did the same with my TrackIR and Saitek X45 software. After the installs were completed, I launched the game, not using any compatibility mode at all, with TrackIR and joystick software running..

Everything runs fine, no lagging anywhere that I can see.

Have you tried running it without compatibility mode?

I also use a piece of software from IOBit called game booster, it stops all unnecessary processes and software, freeing up RAM.
