Hey guys, i just need some consideration into what planes to use for my new single player mission, based on the Burma map, when some Allied bombers bomb a japanese fuel depot, just wondering,... what bombers should i use for this, and how many of them, and what escort planes would you like to see?
So far, i was planning on using some Hawk fighters for escorts, and at the moment, the bomber planes are A-20 G planes (which the player will fly), and the japanese planes so far are 3x A6M2 N1 fighters( which patrol over the area)
mix of B-17s and 29s esscorted by P51s and 47s
Historically, the B-17-BO had been phased out by the time that Mustangs were used in the Pacific for escort. The Mustangs escorted only B-29-BO Superfortresses in the Pacific.

In order to give you an educated answer we need to know the time line you're working with.
Most likely, you'll be looking at B17-E/F's,B24's, A-20's, B25's, P47-D10/D22's and P38-E's/F's/P40-E's/M's, P39's.

Timeline is important, and also Air Forces involved. You'll better have Japanese Army fighters (Ki-43 or Ki-27 if early in the war. No Ki-84 nor Ki-61 in Burma. There were some Ki-45 and Ki-44, but not available in game now).
As heavy bomber, I'll use some B-24 (both in RAF and USAF service). As medium bomber you can go with the A-20 or B-25. If early you can go with Blenheim IV. About fighters: If early, Mohawk IV, Buffalo, Hurricane II, P-40. If late: P-40, P-38, P-47, P-51, Spitfire V and VIII
The timeline roughly after the battle of imphal, a few months after... in the mid-late 1944 era.
