PLEASE HELP!!!!!
IL-2 1946 and forgotten battles worked fine before. I followed the instructions in the 'read me file' that came with the MOD for installing (go to C:> Program files> Ubisoft> il2 sturmovik 1946 file and replace with {copying over} the existing folder)
I tried this several times.
Every time I get as far as the new 'MODS title screen' (with the spitfire swooping on the 109)
the program loads to 5% then kicks me out to the desktop and cancells operation.
I really want to have all aircraft flyable and realistic sounds as opposed to the lawnmower loops.......
But now my game won't even play unless I reload it fresh and do not MOD.
Please help...........

Which mod pack or mod activator did you install?
5% CTD is classic "I forgot a patch" behaviour.
Did you patch the game to 4.08m first?
(also some mod pack require patch 4.09m)

I downloaded the "sound and airplane MODS Megapack"
My game is a new V4.08
Do I need to Download additional Programs like the "activator" you mentioned?
I am sort of new to all this, but know my way around the PC OK

I'm not familiar with that pack...I don't think it originates from this site.
If you have 4.08m, then you should download the 4.09m Official patch, and then the HSFX Mod Pack.
It is more up to date, and supported here.
