Is it possible to give commands over the radio to individual members of your AI flight? I mean if one guy is hit and i want him to go home, is it possible to do that without the rest of the dodos going along as well?

You can send your second element home and you can send the other four plane flights home, but not individual. From the books I've read it was common practice to send home both members of the element if one is damaged so the other can protect them and aid in navigation. This is from pacific theater squadrons, and the distance and featureless ocean are major hazards. If there are mods available to change this I would love to get my hands on it!

You can order your own wingman individually, but sending him back home usually sends the
rest of the flight back home too !!! (bugger!)
Besides heavy damage, individual aircrafts will turn homeward when out of ammo. But those of your flight will stop
short near a rally point (?) and wait for you. Then as you head home, they'll come back straight at you and almost collide.
