I'd like to thank every modder too. Some of them working hard, some just hardly working. Anyways, thank you!
I second (third?) that. HSFX (with Track IR & 6DOF ) + DCG is fantastic. Currently flying DCG USAAF 1942 New Guinea campaign - very challenging flying a P39 in skies crowded with Zeros!
Recently installed HSFX 4.2 Beta which incorporates a modified version of Tigers Sound Mod. Great sounds, but I am not too keen on some aspects of the mod, and looking at ways to replace with alternative sounds. If anybody has installed this 4.2 Beta I would be interested in any tips you might have in this respect.
According to the post on the 242nd forum the beta is private and there waiting for 4.10 to be released before going public with all the changes. I hope 4.10 is released soon can't hardly wait for the new hsfx.
HSFX has been very stable and enjoyable since we switched from UI 1.2. Besides switching out a few buttons files from the great modders at SAS to improve the FM's of the F-86's It has been a great ride and will continue to be so for a long time.
Thanks for posting this, Can't hardly wait for the new HSFX.
Thanks for posting..............i will be keeping an eye out for the new HSFX!! This game just keeps getting better all the time. Ill-2 1946 is the only flight sim i fly now, it has everything you could ever want in a flight sim.

I (almost) second that. I test another modern sim that rocks too, but since I have reinstalled IL-2 1946 on a new rig with all that magic around here, this sim is clearly my favourite now. Gets better and better, like a good wine..It's been a while form IL-2 to this standard. Lovely.

PS: Betas should stay witin developers for a reason IMO.
I was lucky/stupid enough to try it as a noob and it porked one of my installs..after the setup finished, I got a "insert disc 2 command", tried my IL-2 1946 disc-no joy. Tried other installer parts-nope. My game then showed new cyrillic UIs, planes where gone-F-86s was replaced by TA-183s...and bye HSFX4.11...which was my bad. A complete bug in the ass..
So..better wait for a finished work and clear install instructions.
(that happy icon was self-sarcasm)
Cheers..

PS: of course I have anoter backup version with the Histomod pack.
Backups are very neat lol..
Time to fly some props...it's a nice plane, but with so many different ACs it's almost ignortant to focus on one fighter.
Thanks to all modders, love this sim!

Yep, I had that message to, and worked out the solution.
You would have downloaded four files, one .exe and three.rar files.
What the installer is doing is trying to do is find the second file ("insert disc 2" ) of the downloaded mod pack. If you still have the downloads and want to try out 4.2, what you need to do is extract the .rar archives to their own separate folders, then transfer the file from each of those folders into the same folder as the .exe file.
Then, when you run the installer it will automatically find and install the other three files without problems.
I installed over 4.11 as per the instructions in the readme and have had no conflicts / problems.
Cheers,
