A few decades ago, Dick was a legitimate name.


"Dick Tracy"
"Dick Butkus"
"Tricky Dick" (Former USA President Richard Nixon)

... and a bunch of other famous people with the name Dick.



Here is a list of other innocent names which got the script flipped on them by popular culture:



John, as in going to the John (men's room).
Johnson, like Dick is used to indicate a human member.
Peter, like Dick and Johnson, is used to indicate a human member.

Gay was actually a name given to people just a couple generations ago.

Gay, just a few decades ago simply ment merry or happy and there was nothing cultural or sexual about it.



I was born in 1966 and have seen a bunch of innocent names perverted by popular culture. :roll:

Don't you feel sorry for the poor people with a name which gets perverted? :roll:


Years ago, people would have seen the name Dick and not given it another thought.

That was talking about Lis Taylor's new boy toy his name was Dick
The title was ( Lis Loves Dick ) with her photo right under it… :lol:
