HSFX Problem with Install of 2.01
#1

I have installed Up2.01 and can play Hsfx and 4.09 online.
If after playing awhile (Jumping between games)
all of a sudden I cannot go to to HSFX.
the following message appears

(The instruction at “0x0f8d0a57” referenced memory at “0x13a07f08”. The memory could not be “read”.
Click on OK to terminate the program)

The only way to cure that problem is to completely reinstall the programs
and after awhile the problem returns. So I have to reinstall everything.
I have already done the re install many times.
I have also updated 2.01 with UPUpdate and that doesnt solve my problem.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?? :-? :-?

There is incompatibility between some mod that you have activated.

I would beleive you except I have NO mods activated It was plain Jane HSFX
Or could it mean that I just have a bad mod installed.
BUT they are only Mods and up dates from Official site??
This does not happen for the first couple of times only later on after switching games a few times. :-?

Have you tried running HSFX instead of running HSFX through UP?
Would be interested if this happens with the REAL HSFX and not the UP add on.

As for running mods, if you are running UP or HSFX, you're running mods. It doesn't matter if you've activated any or not.
The plane jane version of IL-2 is just that, IL-2 4.09m with NO MODS installed at all.

Next time you re-install the game, stop after the 4.09m update and test the game to see if you still get the error.
If you don't, make a backup copy of the stock game. Call the new folder 'Il-2 Baseline'. Use this for your recoveries instead of reinstalling every time.

After I made my 'Baseline' copy, I made 2 more folders.
IL-2 HSFX
IL-2 UP

I then copied all the contents of the IL-2 Baseline folder into both of these folders.
Then I applied the Mods to the appropriate folders.

That gave me two installs of the game plus a backup copy to draw from if I ever needed to start over.

Thanks Ton414 and Jinxx for your quick replies
Jinxx I will follow your instructions and believe it will solve problem.
will keep you updated.
Only problem then is doing an exe. search for game every time I want to play game through Hyperlobby is (all the exe. files I will find) as I recall there are a lot of them especially in the JSGME folder. maybe a better way to address this is to install each game on different drives. or is there a better way to address that problem. Hello, William

In the past, I have had different mod pack installations to accomplish different goals - one for online flying, one for offline flying, and several copies for experimenting and learning various things.

YES! ...you can have different IL-2 builds on a couple different drives. IL-2 also runs just fine on an external hard drive.

I hope that this helps.

This topic was moved to IL-2 Technical Help forum but likely temporary.

Wow! You started with All Aircraft Arcade way back in 2006! We are glad that you found All Aircraft Simulations. Smile

HOW did you make your install???
With UP it already has HSFX in it.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I also run 3 different versions (modded ones) of IL-2.
2x HSFX4.11 and one UP 2.1 + 2 backups-maybe the problem appears only when switching between
UP and HSFX in the single UP 2.1 install. (?).

I run 3 installs and switch between them and haven't had issues so far.
