Is there a mod that will allow a player to change the default colors of he texts for the speed bar info. If you are playing RED it is red if you are playing Blue the text is blue. The blue text is harder to see for me.

I wanted to change the colors of these texts to make them stand out better.

Huh? You're talking about the speedbar in the lower left hand corner of your screen? The speedbar is always red, it doesn't change, whether you're flying axis or allies.
Or do you use some mod which changes the colors?

Yes I mean the speed bar on the lower left and it is not always red.

If I play on the blue side it is blue if I play on the red side it is red, I wanted to know if there is a mod that will allow me to choose a color for the speed bar no matter which side I play.

It is hard for me to read the blue text......

Screenshot and game version please. Because I've never seen anything other than a red speedbar and I play Sturmovik since v.1.0.
That's why I asked about any mod you might be using.

uh oh, the speedbar is BLUE. It is only red when I play red.

So!! Yes I am looking for a way to change the COLOR of the SPEEDBAR,
no matter what side I am playing.

While I am at it making the text larger would help too.

Bearkiller,, I am not kidding you 'Dude'.

I am playing IL-2 1946 with the HSFX mod. Since I have had the game,
if I am playing red, I get red text, If I am playing blue, I get blue text.
This applies not only to the speedbar text but also the chat text.

Is there a mod for this or not?

If so please point me in the correct direction , if there is no mod for this then let me know.

You have to change the setting for the speedbar in the [MODS] section of your conf.ini file.

As far as wether or not Cain is pulling your leg, he isn't. I've been trying to help him remotely.

What he's wanting to do is to be able to change the speedbar text color.
Right now, when you fly Allied, it's red. When you fly axis, it's blue.

I have the same thing. Would be nice if we could pre-set it to remain a certain color when flying so that friendlies are always one color and enemies are always another color no matter what side you fly on.

That's what he's asking for.

I am sure that there is a way to do this, but I don't know where it is found in IL-2. Basically, you could have the Speed Bar be only one color (red by your preference). This would be done by replacing the blue command content with the red in exactly the same location to "trick" IL-2 into making the Speed Bar stay red for you.

That is all that I have for you because I don't even know where the command line would be found for the Speed Bar color in IL-2, but - yes, it is doable.


To the other guys: If you can't be positive, on topic, and helpful, then why did you even bother to reply to Cain? I am embarrassed that this kind of stuff still sometimes happens at this website.

All he wanted was a simple link to a mod that did what he asked! Instead you guys beat him down and then refused to help him because he didn't post a picture.

I think you all owe him a sincere apology for your plain rudeness, he should not have to prove anything to any one of you, he has no reason to pull your legs or yank ya' chains, like he said he doesn't care what happens in your game, his game is obviosuly different and as Fireskull said, if you can't be positive then why reply to him, Why didn't you just ask a common sense question like, " Are you using any HUD or GUI mods?"

Oh and to fix this is to disable 00_PAL-HUDConfig mod, unless it is vital to your gameplay then you could contact the creator of the mod and request if he can make a few changes for the text.

Here are two screenshots from my system.
This will illustrate the issue that Cain is trying to change.
As you can see, the Allied pic has a 'RED' speedbar and the Axis has a 'BLUE' speedbar.
This is what Cain, myself and others would like to be able to change.

When I fly Allied, my text is red.
When I fly Axis, my text is blue.

It may be a difference between the North American version of the game and the European version.
Would need to do some checking with other players to know for sure.
