[WIP] arsenal VG33
#1

Already seen on SAS! here is the WIP of my arsenal vg33.
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/t ... 827.0.html

Named for engineer Vernisse (V) and designer Jean Gaultier (G), the VG-30 was all wooden in construction, using plywood over stringers in a semi-monocoque construction
Crew: 1
Powerplant: V12 : Hispano-Suiza 12y-31 Developing 860 horse power supercharged liquid-cooled 60°
Internal fuel tank: 400 l
Empty weight: 2050kg
Max Weight: 2656 kg
Wingspan: 10.80 m
Length: 8.55 m
Height: 3.31 m
Wing area: 14.00 m2
Max. speed: 560 km / h
Rate of climb: 3000 meters in 3 minutes 55 seconds; 5000 m in 6 min 25 sec
Ceiling: 11,000 m
Range: 1060 km
Range of auxiliary tanks 2x 100 l: 1560 km
Armament:
Cannon 1x Hispano-Suiza HS-404 caliber 20 mm at the axis of the propeller 60 shots
4x gun MAC-M 34-39 caliber 7.5 mm in the wings 850 shots per weapon

Somewhat underarmed compared to the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the VG-33 matched it in speed and manoeuvrability and was somewhat faster than the Dewoitine D.520. In larger quantities, this plane could have shown the Luftwaffe a rough time.

I love the look of the French aeroplanes. Smile

Some of those planes were giving the German ones a very hard time!

That is a beautiful fighter, Rammbock. Smile
