Hiding aircraft ID in game (HSFX 5)
#1

S! All!

Quick question:
When I hit 'S' on the keyboard not only is my callsign and score shown but also
which aircraft I or others are flying. How do you turn off aircraft ID?

I did it in HSFX 4 but dont remember how to in HSFX 5.
I thought it might be something in the config file but if it is I can not
identify it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

In HSFX 5 (4.10.1m) it's built into the FMB now.

OK - that is good for starters but I need to know HOW!
I searched all the menus in FMB and still do not see
a clearly defined menu item about turning off
aircraft ID in game.

Thanks!

check your conf.ini, last 8 lines (in this example) control what you need...

cheers

Cheeres Cmirko!
You are the man!!!
Thank you for the answer -simple and to the point.
I looked at the config file before many times but failed to see the lines
you so easily pointed out.

A followup - I cant seem to find the config file that shows the values
Cmirko pointed out. I find a config file in my IL-2 folder but
for some reason it does not contain the values for changing aircraft
ID.
Ive searched all my folders for the specific ini file but no joy.

Any help with this Cmirko ( or anyone else)?

Thanks!

Just add the values to your Conf.ini :-

Somewhere below:-

[NET]

showPilotNumber=1
showPilotPing=1
showPilotName=1
showPilotScore=1
showPilotArmy=1
showPilotACDesignation=1
showPilotACType=1

(0 of course will not show these parameters when players press S)

(see the 4.10 Read me for MDF also, this is a 4.10 feature and not an HSFX one although we benefit from it. Its nice though as it all works from the Server PC's config )

Thanl you so very much Chap!
Copying and pasting the information you listed into
the config file solved my problem.
I do not know why the lines were not there in the first
place but no matter.

Adding the lines myself and changing 'showpilotacdesigantion to "0" ' did the trick!

Thanks to all for your patient and accurate help.
