Polikarpov I-16 cockpits Pack Ultimate
#1

Foreword:
Hello to all.
With all the respect to BenderAS & vp_media (who did this a while ago), I suggest my own version of these...
Actually, I made it to boost AAS morale a little -- I still miss those days back in 2007 when Il-2 moddin' just came to be, and everybody was so fascinated & everything seemed so possible then...
O.K... A lot is said about this plane... Some virtual pilots love it, some hate it, but, no matter what they say, this is a legendary plane. Period.
For me, personally, it will always be a symbol of defence of my home city - Leningrad.

4. Enjoy.

mentioned!

Credits:
Special thanks to SkyFan, skvorez & Piper-kiev for makin' my favourite Soviet VVS offline campaigns that inspired me to make those...
I also thank mal16 & Alexander Akanihin for answering my numerous questions patiently...

**I strongly recommend to use this excellent sound mod by Tiger (perhaps the best so far - IMHO), for true immersion:

Afterword:
1. This comes with heavy weathered/scratched perspex canopy glass (I remember somebody whining to have it)... So get it...
If you don't like this scratched/dull look -- just remove the Glass.tga file from the I-16 folder... You'll get the default back...

2. Unfortunately, the original 3D model is about 11 years old, so I had to simulate 70% of the things... Big Grin
I can't do better... Sorry...

This work I dedicate to Soviet VVS pilots who flew these machines, fought bravely & died fearlessly dring the first -- most disasterous -- months of Barbarossa offencive exactly 70 years ago...

Sincere regards,
Mangas.

Thanks, Mangas! We appreciate you, too. Big Grin

The cockpit looks amazing!

The I-16 is so fun to fly and fight in it! I like the challenge against the Bf-109s. It sure will let you know where you are in pilot skill. Smile
