First off I know nothing of modding, NOTHING. I know pretty much what i'm going to make. But i want to know what the 1st step of modding is for an aircraft.
THANKS 4 ANY HELP
The first step is not starting with an aircraft. And more specifically what area are you looking to do, 3d or the java stuff? Do you have any prior experience with either?
Hi,
There is A-Z modding tutorial over freemodding site, around 100 pages  , in the tutorial section. You have to ACTIVELY seek for information, learn with passion and remember to do your homework. Start small, don't make something, just changing something, a bit of this a bit of that is how I started. And Good luck on your journey.

G'day,
Yes, most of modder used to know nothing. LOL. And also yes, you start off by messing around with stuffs and see what work, what would bring an error, what cause the error and such. Look at a particular field that you're interested in: 3d, skin, java code, FM. You can be an all around modder like me, a bit of 3d, java and FM. Or just specialized in one field. Either way, I suggest that you start looking at the basic tutorial available. The tutorial is simple and for people that know nothing. I suggest that you go through all of them and pm me or make a post here or on freemodding site if something you don't understand and need clarification.
Cheers,

I know that there's a lot of tutorials out there, but since you're such a great modder, wich tutorial did you follow?

Well, you say that "I know pretty much what I'm going to make. But i want to know what the 1st step of modding is for an aircraft." But you don't specify what exactly you mean!
If you want to make a new aircraft and export it to the game i must say, you must know many things as 3D modeling, compiling and decompiling java cod(class file),making FM (flight model) and...
those who build and export an airplane to the game don't do it alone, they work in a team and each person makes one-piece of the job who has knowledge for it.
You can first look here:http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...m.php?f=82 you can find many interesting things here like:http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...=82&t=3198 you can also look at SAS and fusionpack.net to find many thing that can help you! 8)
I'll be more spacific of what i want to do. I'm wanting to make a low poly, fast, and flyable missle like the v-1 but more modern looking. And I have looked around and I just cant figure out EXACTLY where to start.

Missile!OK, If you can 3d modeling began to built your 3d model first (in 3ds MaX) or other 3d software then you have to learn how to import it to the game (ask for help), then get the game class file maybe you can study V-1 class files and clone or write your own java file and then you can compile it for your object, it is long way to go! you can take a look here:
http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...m.php?f=31and find out how these tools like Buggy Buggy IL2 Exporter, 3DS MAX export plugin for IL-2 , Class Dumper, Class Resolver, Class Hasher and ... works, if you can't make 3d model maybe you can fin a free 3d missile model here:http://missile.turbosquid.com/3d-Models/...si/c4d/obj now you have many places to check and read and learn,i hope these helps you to began!
