Hello everyone,

I have 2 questions:
1- There is two disc (1 for installing and 1 for play and desinstallating) or just one disc?
I have just one disc, but It don't say disc 1 or disc 2, but when I was trying to install, in the setup, it's said: - Read
- Play
- Desinstalling
- Quit
PS: Installing is black (locked)

2- How to install IL2 1946 in Windows 7 64-bits?
With pictures if possible. I read a lot of topic about that, but I don't understand. I'm more visual.
How to install mods in Windows 7? Hyperlobby?

Just a quick answer - do not install your IL-2 into C:\Program Files (x86) - choose something else like C:\IL-2 1946 or better on a D:, E: etc. drive...
and then make a complete copy of it for installing all the mods you like. (Just copy and past the hole IL-2 directory where you like - but C:\Program Files (x86))
Do not touch or use the original IL-2 for mods!
It might helps you later a lot and your nerves! hock: :mrgreen:

I found myself how to install.

You can sticky that if you want:

STEP BY STEP:
- Put the dvd in your cumputer
- go inside the dvd with "open" in the cumputer panel.
- Copy all document in your new document (you can called it "Il2 1946")--- New document is in C:/***** not in program x86
- Wait
- Click on "a" file
- It's will start installing.
- Play and have fun

IL-2 1946 came to me on 1 DVD, not a CD.

If you installed IL-2 successfully then you find a file called: il2fb.exe
That is the file to execute and to start IL-2!

Ok I reinstall the game and I found the file (0 KB???). After the installation, the file disapear, but I have the shortcut. I can't launch the game anyway.

yes, please uninstall the game completely and install from scratch.

Negative! It will not work unless you apply a mod activator or at least it shouldn't work.

You do not copy the game from the IL-2 DVD!

You do install the game from the DVD!

Yes, It work, I just copy the il2fb.exe from the Il2 DVD and paste them in the Il2 1946 folder I created.

Just one other question:

- I install the patch 4.08m, but when I started the game, It's write 4.07m. How to install patch?

I download the patch in "download folder" and extract them in Il2 1946 folder in a "patch folder" but Its did nothing.

Do you know how to install mods too?
I download 3rdeye smokemods, but I don't know how to activate the mods. I download it in "download" folder and extract them in IL2 1946 folder inside mods folder. It did nothing too. I need 4.08m or 4.09m?

Good morning nic1,

when you install a patch you have to choose the directory where you installed IL-2.
The patch software, in most cases is to stupid to find the correct directory and
will install everything in C:\Program Files (x86), exactly where you should not install the game!
Have a look there, if you find a new directory, like IL-2 with a lot of new files... you know.

You might copy these files and put them into your IL-2 game directory -
or you delete them and install the 4.08m patch and following new.
Just read the messages during installation carefully and do not
"klick" to fast on the "YES" button. You'll be ask where to install the
patch - then choose your IL-2 game directory. All in all - it is quite simple.... 8)

P.S: Just a personal piece of advice - do not install every single mod there might be!
Choose one like UP, HSFX, HistoMod and so on. With one of them you'll get nearly everything
there is - and it will work! Read here the threads and you'll find all the links as well.

4- Wait to download
5- I click extract file in the same Il2 folder --- Patch
6- Wait
7- It will be ok?

If it’s not that, can you show me what to do step by step. I’m not very good to intall patch and mods. lol

Can you explain where I can download mod activator and how it work?
