USS Nimitz CVN68 For VSF
#1

Hi!

This is my first post here, so let me intrudice myself. I´m Javier Fernandez and in the past I did some addons for Flight Simulator. I´ve converted one of them for VSF, the USS Nimitz. The model can be configured bay adding or deleting elements, so you can select what types of planes you want on the deck. Many interior comparments are also modeled. Hope you enjoy it!!

Hi jafergon, I have taken the liberty to contact Ilan Papini the developer of VSF and show him your wonderful Nimitz this is what he had to say in a e-mail to me about your work I post this e-mail here for you.

Subject: Re: John Here You Have To See This

Hi John,
I confirm, the ship is really amazing, and so nicely textured and done.
the man is a genius, he used components for the boat, and the additional parts
with no elements inside, also used very nice combination of textures and low
poly meshes, you can tell he knows game development well.

However, he should have put all the files ( pilots, doc, components, readme ) inside the directory of the USS_Nimitz, making it a single non cluttering package, i have just tested and it works well this way.

I will contact him and tell him to do that, it is best not to put stuff into the common directory of the program that should only be put inside a specific vehicle.

I am very happy to see this kind of work !

Ilan

Here is a small update to this great ship, it is the arester wire so when you land a plane on the ship it will stop before going over the other side :lol:

To install;
just put the boat_CVN.cfg into your Nimitz vehicle folder and you be good to go.

Download Arester Wire;
Arester_Wire

I have also talked with Ilan about doing a catapult launch and making the arester wire in a V shape and it will be done.

Hi Deutschmark,

thank you very much!

Hem, I have to ask, German you know, what exactly is a "arester wire"? Never heard of.
Do you mean "arrester hook"?

Have a nice weekend!

The arrester hook is on the plane, the arrester wire is on the ship and is the wire the hook grabs.
