discuss only** Thailand-East Burma-Indo-China map

I have hesitated to download this map since it seems to involve at least 4 different downloads.

1. Is it possible to have a download that will install the map as well as the hangar pack and object pack and a then we would only have to patch the map?

2. Is is possible to have a download that will install the map (with the patch already installed) as well as the hangar pack and object pack?

It seem that this is what has been done with the Unified MOD Installer so everyone has the same basic files and maybe that is what this map needs.

3. Also once the hangar pack and object pack is installed does it change these same items on all of the maps in the game?

4. Will the map and patch run without the hangar pack and object pack?

you are right...I do need to clean things up a bit...and add the patches into one install....but

I released this ...after....and including ..... the release of Canon's Channel map (so it has some of his objects on it) ....and the first Hanger pack (so some things from that are on it).... and of course my own special trees and other objects add to the Thai/asian flora make it better

I will try this week to clean it up

1. I do not want to add the hanger pack in my install...it is too big and anyone can install it seperately anyway....most people enjoy canon's map so have his objects already...my own objects are necessary for the map to work

2. I will include the patches into a single install....soon

3. these are extra items...the originals are not changed

4. no

I'm loving this map. Big Grin But found something.

Read through and did not see this mentioned. (Or at least I missed it if it was)

While flying over grid AT-50 (on the mini map)
I noticed that the river banks up the side of the hill.
Seems it does this in other parts of this river as well.
Not sure of other rivers though.

You can see it off the nose of my plane.

That is an unavoidable consequence of this map.... because the terrain is nearly all bumpy or downright mountainous, and although the mapC and mapH come from the same data source there are slight inconsistancies which are enough to cause the rivers (which are hand drawn) to not quite match the valleys in the terrain...
to correct them would be an enormous workload ...if ever completeable ...since there is no way of editing the mapC apart from in photoshop and some adjustments would only be shifting a certain stretch of river N.S.E.or W. by a single pixel Confusedhock:

I did try to adjust the worst ones in areas near to airstrips...but have certainly not got them all

Not like the relatively flat European landscape with gentle rolling hills ...but then it is an interesting map just for that same reason....it is the unusual terrain and brightly coloured landscape of tropical Asia

No problem. Smile
Does sound like way too much work for something you may not even notice while flying over from most directions. The direction I was flying I only noticed cause I happened to look around with the outside view.
Just thought I'd point it out.

Still a way cool map though. Big Grin

I really like this map and want to use it, but there are several airfields/areas that just completely lock up my computer in FMB. I have a decent system with 2.5 gig of RAM and don't have this problem on any other maps.

I hope the problems get sorted out and this map becomes a full release at some point - then I will take a look at it again.

This map is outstanding. Especially for those who want to build and fly historically accurate early war missions. involving P-40's ,Hurricanes, and Buffalo's. The modding community has added so much to this sim. The old days of flying over the " green felt " maps of Eastern europe are a distant memory. Great job FabianFred.

I am unable to replicate the problem on my computer :?
most people have complained that my cities are too lightly populated...
which particular areas give you these problems?

I have a problem with this map. It does not show in the FMB maps list. Also, since I installed it , certain other maps will now not load in FMB. I have both LAL Rhones Hangars and Canons objects installed and have added lines to the staitc.ini as instructed in the readme. Any advice would be welcome
