One more thought: I was just up there, bombing and doing what I could to raise heck for the Fatherland, dived and released my bombs, evaded destruction but developed a fuel leak in the exchange with defending Spits.

Perhaps because of the gull wings and not the weight, but a Stuka is in no stretch of the imagination a glider :oops:

I hobbled back to base with my wingman, only to run out of petrol about a half mile from the tarmac. At 800 metres I dropped quickly at 90 KPH and was not able to retard my descent :evil:

Subsequently, I crashed and ended my career as a Luftwaffe pilot hock:

I got 50 pts out of the deal and a few pieces of Russian Spit 8)

Lesson learnt for next time :wink: Next time I get alt. when over my home base, and bail!
