what does the number after an entry fo a texture mean?

In the load.ini for a map, in the sections where you define the textures, such as:

[FIELDS]
LowLand0 = land/summer/sk_LowLand0.tga
LowLand1 = land/summer/sk_LowLand1_fields.tga
LowLand2 = land/summer/sk_LowLand2_fields.tga
LowLand3 = land/summer/sk_LowLand3_fields.tga

MidLand0 = land/summer/sk_fields_midland0.tga,2
MidLand1 = land/summer/sk_fields_midland1.tga,2
MidLand2 = land/summer/sk_fields_midland2.tga,2
MidLand3 = land/summer/sk_fields_midland3.tga

Mount0 = land/summer/sk_fields_mount0.tga
Mount1 = land/summer/sk_LowLand5_fields.tga
Mount2 = land/summer/sk_fields_mount2.tga,2
Mount3 = land/summer/sk_fields_mount3.tga

Country0 = land/summer/sk_LowLand4_fields.tga
Country1 = land/summer/sk_country_mount.tga
Country2 = land/summer/sk_fields_mount4.tga
Country3 = land/summer/sk_fields_mount5.tga,2

City0 = land/summer/sk_DownCity.tga
City1 = land/summer/sk_MidCity.tga
City2 =
City3 = land/summer/sk_Factory.tga

AirField0= land/summer/sk_fields_airfieldGr.tga,4AirField1= land/summer/sk_Factory1.tga
AirField2= land/summer/sk_fields_airfieldGr1.tga,4AirField3= land/summer/sk_midland4.tga,2

Wood0 = forest/summer/sk_ForestGr.tga
Wood1 =
Wood2 = forest/summer/sk_ForestFar.tga
Wood3 =

Water0 = water/water.tga
Water1 = water/water.tga
Water2 = land/summer/sk_LowLand0.tga
Water3 = water/Beach.tga

What do the numbers mean? i've seen 2, 4, -1 and -2 for sure, any ideas as to what they actually do?

It's the scaling factor for the texture. No number means default size, -2 stretches the texture to take up twice the space, 2 reduces in by half and 4 reduces it by a factor of 4.

Thanks alot cannon, can i take it from that , that -1 dosen't do anything?, since it would be stretcing it by a factor of one :? , only i've seen it in some load.ini's

I don't suppose you know of a way to rotate the textures through the load.ini do you, i did wonder if that was what the numbers might be to start with :oops:

once again, cheers,

No, you can't use the load.ini to rotate textures. All you can do to achieve that would be to copy and rotate the actual texture in an image-editor, and then save as a new texture in _tex folder and add the appropriate line to the load.ini
