Yes Gerhard - I did know! :) 8)
Very good and very nice!
The thing we both got in common is, we're living at the river Rhine.
You say Alaaf and I say Helau!
Well, who likes to give me the honor again and have a drink with me?
Gerhard, Ted, DM you're already my guests.
And a little talk as well maybe?
Yesterday I was reading a little story about an incident happened in 1943, four days before Christmas and over the skies of Germany.
Somehow it really hit me in my guts.
It's a story about a 2nd. Lt. named Franz Stigler a German Pilot and a 2nd. Lt. named Charlie Brown a U.S. Pilot and his B-17 Crew and aircraft "Ye Olde Pub".
I'll not tell the story over again, I found it on Wikipedia as well and you might have a look there.
What hit me, is this "real" human behavior of that German Pilot. He could there died twice, once by the B-17 crew and once again by a firing squad later...
After reading this "short" story, it made me feel really good and even cozy. It was another indication for me, that even in the darkest hour, there is still hope and a real human being.
And what's happing just now around the world - I do really hope that humanity and a healthy brain, will prevail!
So, what would you like to drink?
Cheers!
Jambo
