Is it possible to empliment an audable stall warning buzzer to Il2...?
Along with the likes of the undercart lowering/raising noises and clunking?
I know that most modern aircraft have them, but not sure about WWII stuff. Might need some research. Would be a cool feature to have, +1!
In the meantime, watch for 1) wingtip contrails and 2) airframe buffet. If you have either/both of these symptoms, you are about to stall!
[edit] did a quick Google, and found bugger all on the history of stall warning indicators. I suppose its not exactly something that many people really have interest in!
It's weird but with all the years I have played this game I just kinda "know" when I'm going to stall and just ease off in whatever manoeuvre I am doing.
Might be handy though if it was indeed a feature in some aircraft.
Still this would be great..."Along with the likes of the undercart lowering/raising noises and clunking?"
Well, I'm trying to emulate flying a WWII aircraft, so it's a resounding no from me, wether it would be 'cool' or not...
Yes, I've flown aircraft with a stall warning for real, and it's an asset to lnow when you have an impending stall, but not on this game please..
Definitely a No from me too considering my research - I regret suggesting it before I looked into it.
Considering it wasnt invented till 1947  - I cant believe I didnt look into it before the suggestion left my finger tips
It is a great tool in MODERN aircraft, but it simply wasnt there in the Vintage.
My bad
I think I remember reading that the F6F made a honking or moaning sound right before stall speed, something with the cowl ducting. I'll try to dig it up.
