The Slot

I'll make a few versions available and save you the trouble, I want them anyway. It will only change 2-3 text files and map_T.

BTW, with JSGME set up for the new wrapper, you can publish a campaign with custom maps easily. Turn on the mod, play the campaign, turn off the mod, and the custom map goes away (on the off chance someone doesn't want map clutter).

stansdds Wrote:Nice F4U-1! Looks correct for very late 1943 through early 1944. The F4U-1 soldiered on in front line duty in the Solomons through the first quarter of 1944. After that, there were more than enough F4U-1A's available and the F4U-1 was relegated to the rear areas and training duties state side.

Thank you. The template deserves most of the credit

Wow I missed this some how...

Is Green Island on the books to be made?
RNZAF corsairs spent most of their time there, and I'd love to see it here.

It's not in "The Slot" map, it will be in the map that goes from Bouganville to Kavieng, however, don't worry!

The current Slot map is from Guadalcanal to the top of Bouganville, so if Green Island were there, there would be no place for them to fly to. Once they have a good target area (New Britain and New Ireland) they will have a home.

The Slot Team has some very detailed, high-resolution, period maps of Green Island that will be used on our next project. They were drawn by the Seebees whan the base was being built. 8)

Falco -- Are you aware that they have only taken two months to get it to this state. That's damn fast in my book.
Take as long as you need guys.

Whats this even mean: 1c patch-policy

Just so you know Falco it will take me longer to build a decent sized, good quality campaign on this map than it took them to build the map itself.

Well, one of the great things is that this work doesn't really really rely on things like budgeting and overhead and competition with other projects the team is professionally required to, do right?

So it may be a little...difficult...to make a parallel between the way that Maddox Games did things and the way that these folks must do things

In either case, however, I'm curious as to how long you think it should take, and how do you arrive at that estimate

Its more of a guesstimation. We just see how things go along with regards to coast line details, elevation, static objects on the map, how many airfields...

Basically I had hopes to get this out by February, but realistically its not going to be available before March.

Just so you guys know, there isnt a "2 weeks" policy here, its more of a "sit on your butt and be patient, it'll be ready when its ready" policy.

It's tough to put a time-table on innovation!
